This Privacy Policy describes how the developer of Echo Storybooks (also localized as こだま絵本 and 回声绘本, collectively “the App”) handles information. The App is designed for young children to use with a parent or guardian. No account is required.
Information kept on the device
A parent may enter a child’s nickname and age. The nickname, age, reading progress, stars, language choices, and settings remain on the device and are not sent to our content server, Mixpanel, or RevenueCat. They are removed when the App is uninstalled, subject to the device platform’s backup behavior.
Microphone and speech recognition
Read-aloud mode uses microphone and system speech-recognition permissions to provide pronunciation feedback. The App does not retain recordings and does not send recordings or recognized text to Mixpanel or our servers. Apple or Google speech-recognition services may process audio or recognition results according to the device settings and their own policies. Listening mode remains usable without microphone access.
Usage analytics
Analytics is enabled by default and can be disabled at any time in Settings. Mixpanel may receive a pseudonymous analytics identifier, basic app and device technical information, and product events such as a book identifier, language, mode, completion, and star result. We disable automatic event collection and IP-based geolocation. We do not send the child’s nickname, age, voice, recognized text, contacts, photos, or precise location.
Purchases
Apple App Store or Google Play processes payments. RevenueCat helps verify access and may process an anonymous App user identifier, product and transaction identifiers, subscription status, and basic app/device information. We do not receive full payment-card details.
Content delivery and notifications
Cloudflare hosts picture-book files. Standard security and operational logs may include an IP address, request time, user agent, and requested file. Daily reading reminders are scheduled locally on the device; the App does not upload a push token for these reminders.
How we use and share information
We use information only to provide, protect, understand, and improve the App; verify purchases; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, serve third-party behavioral advertising, or allow children to publish information publicly. Service providers process limited information only to perform the services described above.
Retention, choices, and requests
Local information remains until the App is removed or device data is cleared. Analytics can be disabled in Settings. Store and subscription records may be retained by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or us as required for service, security, tax, and legal purposes. A parent may contact us to ask a privacy question or request access, correction, or deletion of information reasonably linked to the App.
Children and international users
The App minimizes children’s data and asks a parent to complete setup. Parents should supervise use. We handle information under applicable privacy and children’s privacy laws. Information processed by service providers may be transferred to countries where they operate, with protections required by applicable law.
